Day at the Zoo

We spent some time on Saturday at the zoo, the girls and I. McKayla had received two free admissions to the zoo from school and while the boys were fishing we thought we would entertain ourselves with the animals. My favorite exhibit, by far, was the Wallaby Walkabout where we were able to walk through the exhibit with just a rope between ourselves and the miniature kangaroos. I was fascinated to learn that the gestation period for the wallaby is just 36 days and then the baby wallaby has to make it from the birth canal into the pouch by themselves where they spend the next 6-7 months. Interesting stuff.

Kristin's favorite exhibit at the zoo was the monkeys!! They look pretty interested in her as well!
