Hello Car Insurance Increase

Not that I had any doubts but our car insurance is going up up up with adding Austin to the policy once he is a licensed driver. We added him months ago when he got his permit but as a permitted driver our insurance company does not increase the premium at all. That was a nice reprieve while it lasted! He is getting closer and closer to getting his license and I had checked months ago how much it would be to add him to our current policy, about a 300.00 per 6 month increase. That was adding him as a driver to all three of our vehicles so I knew as the time got closer I needed to check on what the price would be if we only put him on one of our vehicles. Of course, the oldest, crappiest vehicle! (I am all for letting a child practice driving but it doesn't have to be on the biggest best vehicle we own when we are not in the car!) Imagine my surprise when the quote for our old car with the three of us on it was tons higher and less cost effective than just having him insured on all of the vehicles. This doesn't make sense but since I am into making cents, I will go with it. He is still just going to drive the crappy car for a while until he becomes more experienced. Thank goodness by the time Kristin drives he will be an adult and responsible for such matters on his own!
