The Pleaser in Me

I have found as I get older I have a desire to please those around me. I am sure this has always been true about my personality but I am just discovering how deep this desire goes. I have to say this is not all bad. For example, my desire to please generally makes me a good employee and co-worker as I don't like to do anything to make other people mad. I have recently been in a situation where I had to choose a path and either way I choose was going to upset someone. I agonized over this decision, it kept me up at night. Eventually I made my decision and let everyone involved know and there has been some backlash. Ironically enough the backlash has made me realize I made the correct decision. There is some peace in that.
