Emotional Basket Case

McKayla has been frequently going into crying jags lately for a variety of reasons. We were coming home Friday night from a work BBQ and she is crying in the back seat because she misses Grandma Roxanne. As I am putting on my therapist hat with my daughter she very logically says she used to see Grandma more often and since going to school doesn't see her as often. This is true and I am incredibly proud of her ability to clearly define her problem and that her emotion regarding the issue is based on reality. I enjoy that! I assured her that a trip to the cabin with Grandma was in the process of being planned and she would be able to spend lots of time with her then.

I think all this time with the "big kids" is busy and after the week with them is over she is tired and needs a little space to lose her stuff!
