Itchy

I have been itchy on my back and stomach for about the last month or so and finally decided it was time to go to the dermatologist.  It had been getting a bit better in the last few days probably because of the benadryl I have been taking at night.  The dermatologist said I am having an immune reaction to something I came in contact with.  An immune reaction is very similar to an allergic reaction but evidently required the intervention of about 3 different medications.  One of the medications is prescription and is rather unconventional as I have to get it from a compounding pharmacy.  (O, the things I am learning about today)  After I get the prescription I have to mix it with a special lotion and then apply the lotion twice a day for 2 weeks and then once a day for 2 weeks.  I also need to take Claritin in the morning and Zyrtec in the afternoon for the next couple of months.  I think this process may be more aggravating than the itching.

Also, I am not supposed to scratch, which is much easier said than done!
