Camping Day Number 2

Today we spent some time walking down to Lake Cascade.  The dog was out of his mind with excitement and spent a considerable amount of time running and swimming in the water and then rolling in the sand.  McKayla was eager to swim but with a water temperature of around 60 degrees it was not time yet.  McKayla had a school assignment to gather items in nature that would be good for building a gnome home as an art project.  Our location was prefectly suited for this task and it was fun gathering sand, twigs, pebbles, moss, leaves, and pinecones.  McKayla is convinced she will have the best gnome home in her class.  We enjoyed the walk in the woods and a short 4 wheeler ride to the state park up the road to catch the view of the lake from that angle.  As always the food is delicious and the company is excellent!

We saw this little critter on our way back from the lake.  She is a resident of this area and is fearless of people. (Probably because they feed her!)
