Front Line Work

I had the opportunity today to do the job I did when I first started at the Department.  This came about as I had been part of training an enhanced model of safety practice to our workers earlier in the year.  I promised I would take at least one referral to try out the new process myself.  It was difficult.  The part that was hard was that I was rusty, not having done this type of work in 9 years and I wanted to be good right away.  I realize that is not a very realistic expectation but I wanted it anyway.  The write up part went well but I can see how this makes people think differently about how and what information they gather.  It was a nice opportunity to experience different work and I sure appreciate the workers even more now!

Another great thing today was one of my friends from work gave McKayla a big box of clothes and accessories her daughter had grown out of.  McKayla was THRILLED!
