Grocery Woes

I used to go to the grocery store every other week and would buy for two weeks at a time.  I have gone back and forth over the years with weekly versus twice monthly shopping trips.  The weekly shopping trips appeal to me because I am able to get more fresh produce and I feel like we eat a more healthful diet this way.  The appeal of the twice monthly shopping trip is it seems to be more economic. Also, in the summer we have more social occasions so weekly seems to be better as I find myself just making those planned trips to the store instead of less planned trips and more unplanned trips as there was an event we were just invited to.  I had consistently been doing weekly shopping for the last few months but was out of my budget every month.  Today I decided to shop for every two weeks and try to stay in my budget.  It didn't work at all!  I am starting to wonder if grocery prices have increased to the point that my budget is not realistic.  It certainly couldn't be ME!
