Our Christmas with Austin and Kristin & Christmas at the Geyer's

On a sadder note, we can't seem to have a special celebration without the kids mom finding it in her heart to interfere.  She was distressed that Kristin was going to be exposed to lice due to McKayla having to be treated earlier in the week.  She wasn't at all curious at what we were doing to make sure Kristin would not get it but just wanted for Kristin to come home.  Sometimes she is irrational and there is no other approach to take but to do damage control and minimize the effect she has on the kids.  So, Kristin went home Saturday evening instead of being able to finish the weekend with us and help decorate Jim's tree for him tomorrow.  I hope that at some point in time she realizes that she negatively effects the kids when she continues to control and interfere.  If they are taught that she is the only person in the world who can meet their needs, they are not being taught to meet their own needs and then I guess they can live with her forever.

Kids should know all the adults in their lives who are resources to them, not just the ones related to their mother.
