Today is my last day of being on call. Typically we are on call from Friday at 5 pm until the following Friday at 8 am. This round another supervisor wanted to leave town for part of her on call so I volunteered to cover a few of her days for her. So this time I have been on call from January 7th at 5 pm until January 18th at 8 am. It has been quite the haul. I must say, whenever I volunteered for this I wasn't aware that a couple of those days were going to be bad days. And bad days in child welfare are really bad. I have really appreciated the support and kindness I have received from my co-workers and my ever-suffering ever-understanding husband of this crazy work I love doing. My thoughts and prayers today go out to a family who will remain nameless that I haven't been able to get out of my mind for the last few days. May the Lord bless you and keep you and may His face shine upon you and most of all may His presence bring you comfort.
