Happy Birthday Party Kristin!!

We celebrated Kristin's twelfth birthday today with our immediate family party last night. I will have to figure out a time to do the larger family party as next weekend we have the kids we are going camping. Kristin requested German Chocolate cake so I had my hand at making the frosting which is similar to making candy other than you don't need a candy thermometer. It took about 30 minutes of cooking and stirring to get the frosting to the right consistency but it was worth it. Both Keith and Kristin said it was good. I don't like German Chocolate frosting so I also made vanilla. I hate to be a slacker in the gift department but have found as the kids grow older it is harder and harder to figure out what they want for gifts and I rely more and more on gift certificates. They always surprise me with what they end up getting so I am thinking it is a good thing I go with the gift certificate rather than trying to figure it out on my own and being wrong!
